Last Saturday, we gathered with family, friends, and community to mark an important milestone for Theo’s Longhouse Strong Coffee. Together, we cut the ribbon on our space, not just to open a door, but to honor the journey that brought us here and the people who made it possible.
This moment has been a long time coming.
Theo’s began as a grassroots effort grounded in culture, connection, and care. What started small has grown through intention, trust, and the belief that coffee can be more than a product. It can be a way to support community, invest in future generations, and create meaningful opportunities rooted in values.
The ribbon cutting was not about a building alone. It was about presence. Elders, families, youth, supporters, and community members came together to witness this step forward. The drumming and songs shared during the gathering were a powerful reminder that this work is collective and ceremonial. It does not move forward in isolation.
Inside the space, families stood side by side. Stories were shared. Laughter filled the room. These moments reflect what Theo’s is truly about. Building something that welcomes people in, honors where we come from, and makes room for what is ahead.
This space represents more than coffee production or operations. It represents healing through connection, opportunity through collaboration, and strength through community. Every bag of coffee supports youth programs, food banks, cultural events, and resources that matter. Every step forward is taken with responsibility and gratitude.
We are deeply thankful to everyone who showed up, helped prepare, offered prayers, shared songs, lifted hands, and celebrated with us. Your presence was the greatest gift of the day.
As Theo’s Longhouse Strong Coffee continues to grow, we remain committed to doing this work in a good way. With intention. With respect. And with the understanding that success is measured not only by growth, but by who we lift up along the way.
This was an opening, but it was also a promise.Kayela Holle
