Theo’s Coffee is Now Part of First Stories of the Salish Sea

At Theo’s Longhouse Strong Coffee, everything we do comes back to connection.
Connection to community.
Connection to culture.
Connection to the stories that came long before us and are still being carried forward today.

This summer, we’re honored to be part of something that reflects those values in a powerful way.

A Partnership Rooted in Story and Place

We’re proud to announce our partnership with FRS Clipper as part of the First Stories of the Salish Sea experience – an Indigenous-led whale watching and cultural journey unlike anything else on the water.

This experience invites people to see the Salish Sea not just as a scenic destination, but as a living homeland. For generations, these waters have connected Indigenous communities through travel, fishing, trade, and shared stewardship.

On this journey, guests hear directly from Indigenous cultural leaders, storytellers, and knowledge keepers who share the history, teachings, and lived experiences tied to this place.

More Than Whale Watching

Of course, there is the opportunity to witness incredible marine life. Orcas, humpback whales, seals, and other wildlife are often part of the experience.

But this isn’t just about what you see.

It is about what you learn.
What you feel.
What you carry with you when you leave.

Throughout the journey, guests are introduced to Coast Salish teachings and perspectives, including:

  • The deep relationship between people and the sea
  • The importance of salmon and stewardship
  • Indigenous trade routes like the Kelp Highway
  • The longhouse way of life and its cultural significance
  • The enduring presence of Indigenous communities today
This is an experience built on respect, reciprocity, and truth. It centers Indigenous voices and honors the knowledge that has guided these lands and waters since time immemorial.

Why Theo’s Coffee is Part of This

Theo’s Longhouse Strong Coffee was never just about coffee.

It began as a grassroots effort to support the Warm Springs Longhouse, and everything we do still ties back to that purpose. Every bag we roast and every cup we share supports cultural preservation, community gatherings, and the continuation of traditions.

Being included in this experience matters to us because it aligns with what we believe in:

  • Supporting Native-owned businesses
  • Investing in Indigenous communities
  • Sharing culture in ways that are respectful and authentic
  • Creating spaces where stories are told the right way

Onboard, guests will experience a curated selection of Native-owned food and beverage partners, highlighting Indigenous flavors, ingredients, and entrepreneurs.

We’re proud to have Theo’s Coffee included as part of that offering.

Because when you drink our coffee, you’re not just tasting something bold.
You’re taking part in something meaningful.
